My parents are Fox News addicts. Every conversation becomes political. Every topic becomes a rant. I can't talk about anything without it spiraling. Can't have a normal family dinner. I've asked them to stop. To have boundaries about politics at meals. They won't. They say I'm trying to silence them. I'm just trying to have a relationship that isn't all conflict. But they won't give me that. So I'm giving them distance instead.
