This platform exists to provide a ceremonial space for public, anonymous farewells. Your privacy is absolute. Your identity remains yours alone.

We do not collect, store, or process:

• Names, email addresses, or contact information
• User accounts or registration data
• IP addresses or geolocation data
• Browsing history or behavioral tracking
• Cookies for analytics or advertising
• Any personally identifiable information (PII) whatsoever

Purpose: We generate a temporary browser fingerprint for one purpose only—to ensure each person can ripple a heart (♡ The Rippling Heart) only once per farewell.

What is a Browser Fingerprint? A fingerprint is a technical signature generated from your browser configuration (e.g., screen resolution, installed fonts, browser version). It cannot identify you as an individual.

How We Use It:

• Generated locally in your browser when you ripple a heart
• Stored temporarily for 30 days only
• Automatically deleted after 30 days (no manual retention)
• Used exclusively for ripple deduplication—no tracking, no profiling, no cross-site linking

What We Do NOT Do:

• Link fingerprints to your identity
• Share fingerprints with third parties
• Use fingerprints for analytics or advertising
• Retain fingerprints beyond 30 days

Public Display: All farewell letters are publicly visible to anyone visiting this platform. This is by design—a collective monument to witnessed goodbyes.

Immutability: Once you enshrine a farewell, it becomes a digital monument. It cannot be edited, modified, or deleted. This permanence is core to the ceremonial nature of the platform.

Anonymity: Your farewell contains no link to your identity. No username. No profile. No email. Only the content you choose to share.

⚠️ Important: Because farewells are public and permanent, do not include personal information (names, locations, identifying details) unless you intend for them to be publicly visible forever.

Cloudflare Infrastructure: This platform is hosted on Cloudflare Workers (serverless compute), with data stored in Cloudflare D1 (database), R2 (audio storage), and KV (fingerprint cache).

Cloudflare's Role:

• Provides infrastructure and content delivery network
• May collect technical logs for security and performance (e.g., DDoS protection)
• Does NOT access or analyze your farewell content
• Subject to Cloudflare's own privacy policy (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy)

No Analytics or Tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking scripts.

Farewell Content: Stored permanently and publicly. No deletion mechanism exists—this is intentional.

Browser Fingerprints: Automatically deleted after 30 days. No manual intervention, no exceptions.

No Backups of Personal Data: Since we collect no personal data, there are no personal data backups to retain or delete.

Anonymity Guarantee: You have the right to use this platform without revealing your identity. No registration required, ever.

No Right to Deletion: Because farewells are immutable digital monuments, you cannot request deletion of content once published. This is a fundamental design choice to preserve the ceremonial integrity of the platform.

No Data Portability: Since we collect no personal data, there is no personal data to export or transfer.

Fingerprint Expiry: Your browser fingerprint automatically expires after 30 days. No action needed.

Global Access: This platform is accessible worldwide. We apply privacy principles consistent with international standards, including GDPR (Europe) and CCPA (California).

GDPR Compliance: We do not collect personal data as defined by GDPR. Browser fingerprints are used solely for technical functionality (ripple deduplication), not for profiling or tracking.

CCPA Compliance: California residents: We do not sell, share, or trade any personal information. We collect no personal information as defined by CCPA.

Children's Privacy: This platform does not knowingly collect information from users under 13 years of age. If you are under 13, please do not use this platform without parental consent.

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will indicate the most recent revision.

Material Changes: If we make material changes that affect your privacy, we will display a prominent notice on the platform homepage for 30 days.

No Retroactive Changes: Changes will not apply retroactively to farewells already published before the policy update.
