My dad abused my mom. For years. And she stayed. And I can't forgive her for that. I watched it. Heard it. Lived in fear because of it. And she chose him over our safety. I begged her to leave. Offered her my couch. Said we'd figure it out together. She went back. Every time. And I can't watch it anymore. Can't be collateral damage. I love her. But I can't save someone who won't save themselves.
