When trust shattered like glass

I gave you my whole heart. I believed every word, every promise, every "I love you." And you took that trust and destroyed it, over and over, while looking me in the eyes. [ What I'm Grateful For ] I hate that I have to find gratitude here, but maybe thank you for showing me I'm stronger than I thought. Thank you for teaching me that some people aren't worthy of the love I have to give. Thank you for the painful lesson in protecting my heart. [ The Goodbye & The Wish ] I'm walking away from the wreckage now. I hope you find whatever you were searching for in someone else's arms. I hope it was worth it. As for me, I'm learning to trust again, slowly, carefully, with people who actually deserve it.
