I'm saying goodbye to the version of me that was...

I'm saying goodbye to the version of me that was bitter about aging. That mourned youth. That resisted time. Every wrinkle was a tragedy. Every gray hair was defeat. Every birthday was grief. And I was miserable. I thought I was supposed to stay 25 forever. That aging was failure. That youth was the only value. But getting older is privilege. Many don't get to. And fighting it makes it worse, not better. I'm accepting my age now. Embracing wisdom. Appreciating experience. Choosing gratitude over grief.
